Doing your art means creating an inspiring narrative through whatever you do, whether that is running a business, managing a team, or building a spreadsheet.

The Zone of Genius
Simcha introduces the idea of a genius zone, the part of your day where time disappears because you are doing exactly what you were made to do. Most working adults report spending only ten to thirty percent of their time there. The rest is spent on functional, bureaucratic tasks that keep the lights on but do not light anyone up.
He shares the story of a workshop participant named Aviva who realized her home could become an asset that funded the manicure and pedicure business she truly loved. She had never seen the connection until she was asked the right question.
Why People Avoid Claiming Their Art
Both guests point to two forces that keep people from stepping into their art. The first is internal, limiting beliefs about worthiness and whether their idea is good enough to say out loud. The second is external, environments and economic systems that only reward certain kinds of value. Simcha recalls growing up in a community where creative pursuits were treated as distractions from a real career.
Ronen adds an economic layer. In small family units, unlike the tribes we evolved in, there is no built in support system for someone to spend most of their time doing only what they are best at. Everyone has to be useful in a general sense, which pushes people away from their specific genius.
The World Needs Another You
Ronen offers one question he asks every executive and business owner he works with. Why me. Thousands of people already do your job. So why does the world need another accountant, another manager, another consultant, specifically you. The honest answer to that question is usually where your art lives.
AI Removes the Skill Barrier
The most striking idea in this episode is Ronen’s point about democratization. AI now lets people skip years of technical skill building to express an idea. You do not need to learn to paint to create an image. You do not need to learn to direct to make a short film. You do not need years of writing craft to draft a novel.
This does not replace the art. It removes the barrier standing between the idea in your head and the ability to actually make it real.
