How Leaders Overcome Personal Bias

Foster talked about the importance of diversity in the workplace, and how it can help people to be more understanding and accepting of different cultures and practices.  She discussed the importance of being able to be your authentic self at work, while also being mindful of professional dress codes. Karith Foster made the point that  different cultures and ethnicities have different hair styling practices. Being aware of these differences prevents us from making unwarranted assumptions about someone’s professionalism based on their appearance.

Why We Should be Curious With Each Other

Karith Foster discussed the importance of curiosity and connection in today’s world. She argued that we are becoming increasingly indifferent to each other, and that this is due in part to our reliance on technology and our lack of face-to-face interaction. Foster believes that we need to be more curious about each other and that we need to be willing to ask questions.

Foster advised  that we be more intentional about creating opportunities for connection. Foster’s insights are timely and important. In our increasingly divided world, it is more important than ever to be curious about each other and to build relationships with people who are different from us.

What does C.A.R.E mean?

Karith Foster discussed the importance of CARE in our relationships. She defined CARE as an acronym for conscious empathy, active listening, responsible reactions, and environmental awareness.
